The Dell SC430 seems pretty good value for a small home server see http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/pedge_sc430?c=uk&cs=ukbsdt1&l=en&s=bsd but I can't find any freebsd users except http://happygiraffe.net/blog/archives/2006/01/17/new-server#comments and he doesn't say which variety (onboard sata or adaptec scsi) he has working.
