Glad to have you in here! I doubt that versioning is the problem, though:
If I understood correctly, the problem ist that dbi-drivers can be configur=
ed
in a way that either Postgres or MySQL-support is missing, thus requiring
manual intervention (rebuild).

I think the dbi-drivers need to be split in separate FreeBSD-ports. The lib=
/dbd/libfoo.so
backends are all independent, aren't they? Xin Li, any chance of splitting =
the
port? I'll be glad to help.
