I got the new Plextor CDR a couple of weeks ago:
scbus1 target 4 lun 0: <PLEXTOR CD-R   PX-R412C 1.03> type 5 removable SCSI 2

It uses the MMC Comandset (SCSI3 Multimedia Commandset) and is supported
by cdrecord (in ports).
