Its "stand alone" in the sense that when its installed in a common or =
garden variety PC it will do as much as any other operating system if =
you are willing to persevere long enough.
Whilst there are probably heaps of people using it in a standalone =
situation, the strength of FreeBSD is as an extremely stable server =
..... I prefer other things for day to day desktop use.
