Not for checking on the things that sysinstall refers to as
"distributions," it doesn't.  

Given that the contents of each of those distributions can be
installed in a number of different ways, there isn't any answer, in
general, to the question.  You can check each one empirically (e.g.,
if you don't have a /usr/games directory, you didn't install the games
distribution), and that's generally good enough.
