 IMO, this situation should be avoided in bsd.gcc.mk, not in particular ports.
 Proposed patch will affect users that have gcc44 installed, forcing them to 
 install yet another version of gcc. Generally better to make bsd.gcc.mk 
 install gcc45 if USE_GCC=4.4+ requested, rather then replacing USE_GCC=4.4+ 
 with USE_GCC=4.5+ in whole ports tree.
