Pop up the controls and tweak away.  Try turning down the white balance.  
Should be pretty good in any light with sufficient tweaking.

You don't have libqcam.a?  Ouch. You're missing the best part!  ;-)  

Check out http://www.cynwyr.com/qcpc

Make sure you grab the patches for FreeBSD, then apply and compile.  
Should compile without a problem.

I haven't tried a libqcam.a VIC yet (if there is one, where is it?); 
there is supposedly a working one for the qcam kernel driver in -current.
