that fixed my problem it turned out that i used a bad font when printing out the BSD hand book and the spaces were really hard to find...but now it still doesn't work now i have a login error (the lines have been numbered for reference and are acutely there) 1 default: 2 set device /dev/cuaa0 3 set speed 115200 4 set dial "ABORT BUSY ABORT NO\\sCARRIER TIMEOUT 5 \"\" ATE1Q0 OK-AT-OK \\dATDT\\TTIMEOUT 40 CONNECT" 5 provider: 6 set phone "346 6520 : 346 1586 : 346 3565" 7 set login "TIMEOUT 10 ogin:-\\r-ogin: user-name word: XXXXXX col: ppp" 8 set timeout 500 9 deny lqr 10 set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.0 11 delete ALL 12 add 0 0 HISADDR i don't think it's logging in and failing because it out puts the error and stays connected for about a min longer. my user name does how ever have a '-' in it would that matter?? if so how do i fix it.
