Steve, I thank you for your excellent tutorial pages. I have
now connected to Rogers@home and have solved my CDROM access
problem. Instead of using the CDROM option in /stand/sysinstall
I needed to go to load the files at /cdrom.

However, here come another 2 hurdles I need to cross.

Problem 1

My server has two 650 MHZ Pentium III CPUs for SMP. I
reconfigured and compiled the kernel for SMP but only CPU #1 is
launched according to the screen read-out. Is there also a CPU
#0 that is already assumed, or should I be seeing CPU #2
launched as the other CPU ?

Problem 2

I am trying to set up a multiple homed gateway host using 3
NICs. All confuguration so far has been according to
your "Setting-up a Dual-Homed Host using IPFW and NATD" and all
has gone well.

When at step 6 to check firewall rules, however, I get the
following:

00100 divert 8668 ip from any to any via fxp0
00100 allow ip from any to any via lo0
00200 deny ip from any to 127.0.0.0/8
65000 allow ip from any to any
65535 deny ip from any to any

THE LAST LINE ABOVE IS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR EXAMPLE.

I guess this is because of the 3rd NIC. Your system has two (2).

How should I configure the third NIC? How do I differentiate
the third Nic from the second? (IPs)

Can I set different firewall rules for each of the three NICs?
Or only for two?

I'm planning to use the third NIC as a second LAN connection to
the server.

Can I also/alternatively use one of three/four NICs to set a
redundant Internet connection?

A rookie BSDer ;\
