You are not alone... I have been looking a bit into the JRE but got rather stuck when I found out the ports collection was version 1.1.18 only. Then I got involved in something else. I also tried using the Linux JRE but that was not successful. The same for simple attempts to use the ported Linux flash player as a plugin.
