Greg, I think mine is a bit different in that it does not get recognized as an "st" (SCSI tape) device. I've rebuilt the kernel and now it attaches to the st driver - I could not get the "ch" to do anything worthwhile. The uk0 seen above is worthless to me - I guess you could write a driver to control it but I haven't the gray matter or time for that kind of thing. BTW on the Archive you can get it to move to the next tape in the magazine using mt: mt -f /dev/rst0 offline It will not eject the magazine at the end however. I use this in scripts at work to eject on Exabytes too (Sol 2.5.1) - so far I've found most of the mt commands to work (fsf, bsf, rewind, blocksize, density, rewoffl, and status) for the Archive on FreeBSD. --brett-- > >>> bt0 waiting for scsi devices to settle > >>> (bt0:0:0): "IBM DCAS-34330W S61A" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 > >>> sd0(bt0:0:0): Direct-Access 4134MB (8467200 512 byte sectors) > >>> (bt0:6:0): "ARCHIVE Python 28849-XXX 4.CM" type 1 removable SCSI 2 > >>> uk0(bt0:6:0): Unknown > >>> (bt0:6:1): "ARCHIVE Python 28849-XXX 4.CM" type 8 removable SCSI 2 > >>> uk1(bt0:6:1): Unknown To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
