Installed 3.0-SNAP-19980719 (no other close to 17 there). Then diffs, then make buildworld, etc. The controller is an AIC-7895, Channel A is wired up with a wide cable to the outside (no devices attached). Channel B has a narrow cable on it with 1 SCSI disk, 1 CD-Rom and 1 CD-W drive. Kernel reports at boot time: ahc0: <Adaptec aic7895 Ultra SCSI adapter> rev 0x03 int a irq 7 on pci0.9.0 ahc0: aic7895 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 32/255 SCBs ahc1: <Adaptec aic7895 Ultra SCSI adapter> rev 0x03 int b irq 7 on pci0.9.1 ahc1: Illegal cable configuration!!. Only two connectors on the adapter may be u sed at a time!ahc1: aic7895 Wide Channel B, SCSI Id=7, 32/255 SCBs Then after npx0: Unexpected busfree. LASTPHASE == 0x1 SEQADDR == 0x158 and 74 more lines like that. CAM diffs from April worked fine. -- Regards, Ulf. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Ulf Zimmermann, 1525 Pacific Ave., Alameda, CA-94501, #: 510-769-2936 Alameda Networks, Inc. | http://www.Alameda.net | Fax#: 510-521-5073 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message
