	Sounds like the cvsup file wasn't configured correctly.  You might
want to double check it and cvsup again.  For reference, here's the one
that I used a few days ago:

*default host=cvsup3.FreeBSD.org
*default base=/usr
*default prefix=/usr
*default release=cvs tag=.
*default delete use-rel-suffix
*default compress
ports-all
