in rc.conf:

ifconfig_fxp0_ipx="ipx 0x87654321"
ifconfig_lo0_ipx="ipx 0x12345678.1"
ipxrouted_enable="YES"

87654321 is whatever your existing ETHERNET_II ipx network number is.

12345678 is your machines local network number; probably not needed
except for machines running mars_new.

That should be all you need.
