It's called "experience".  Such a guide would be an n-complete work.

Just at the moment, it's easier :

Install 2.1R.
Sup -current.
Boot everyone off the machine.
cd to /usr/src and 'make world'
make a new kernel, install it
reboot.

I've done this twice now in the last couple of days, and it works fine.

Such as?  Some real examples would help here.  As it is, you're currently
wearing the 'luser' tag because it worked for _us_, and you can't show
anything concrete.
