On a related note, I've e-mailed Kirk to let him know that there appear to
be a number of places in the system where vn_{start,finished}_write()
appear not to wrap writing functions, including core dump handling for
a.out and ELF. People should probably continue to treat snapshotting as
experimental, as there are probably a number of bugs related to this
scattered hither and yon.
