http://people.freebsd.org/~grehan/kernel.nfs This should fix the intermittent sigaborts/lockups. I've built kernels cleanly on G3 & G4 machines. The problem was that the segment register reserved for copyin/copyout wasn't being saved across context switches, resulting in an incorrect address being extracted from the segment register when copyin/copyout/friends resulted in a fault. I've disabled ATA support in this kernel: some problems have shown up recently that I haven't managed to track down. later, Peter.
