Yes, the drive is external. These errors come before any drives get
mounted, so I don't think /etc/fstab is going to help. I just want the
drive to be available in case I wanted to use it, so bootable zip won't
do me any good. The docs say the driver - umass(4) - is the one to use.
It does say the driver id 'primative', so maybe I'll just have to wait a
bit.
