The new rule is that any US citizen may export open-source crypto,
including posting
it on the Internet, simply by sending an e-mail to a particular e-mail
address at the
commerce department. No other requirements exist. I would have to
presume that by
now someone sent ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ to the commerce
department. :-)
