If no, check: - whether you have `pseudo-device splash' in your kernel config - whether you have /modules/${saver}_saver.ko One more thing I noticed. Whenever a message is displayed on your current vty, saver will stop. So, if your active vty is console (/dev/ttyv0), saver will stop every time a message is put on console.
