Meshlab is unsable, it cannot open mesh files (the program is used to process and edit meshes).
>How-To-Repeat:
1) Start program
2) File > Import mesh...
3a) Try to open a mesh 
-> popup: Unable to open file: ... Error details: file format stl is not supported.
3b) or just look at the "File of type:" list of the "Import Mesh" window: it is empty


Note: a similar problem existed before: it was solved by ghr
