My /usr/local/etc/pkg.conf lists

PACKAGESITE         : http://pkg.freebsd.org/${ABI}/latest

But thank you anyway.

I suspected something like this so I'll just carry on installing as I 
use to.

Hopefully there will be packages available eventually.
