So far, you have answers involving switching to mutt and procmail. Personally, I use procmail, as the filtering rules are new to pine 4.2. It looks as if you can modify my usual procmail rule to use in pine 4.2. My usual procmail rule for FBSD-questions is :0: * ^Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG freebsd-questions I'm kind of assuming that you can use the sender field (owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG) along with move to folder field (checked) and it's subfield about which folder to move to (freebsd-questions). As for a more general rule, your guess is as good as mine: probably either a wildcard substitution if possible or a multiple rules to the same folder (I see no reason why it shouldn't work...). I question the wisdom of trusting the filtering inherent in pine, as it's relatively new and not very well tested, but YMMV On Mon, 17 Jul 2000, Danny Ho wrote: > -Hello > > -I am using pine as my email client. > - Sadly, every time I launch pine I get 600 emails in my inbox because I > am not applying the email filters correctly > > - Question > > - How exactly do I apply my email filter to sort out between FreeBSD and > non FreeBSD related emails? > > Looking forward to your feedabck. > > n9905391@scholar.nepean.uws.eud.au > > > > ######################################################################### > # > # Microsoft: - Where do you want to go today? > # > # Linux :- Where do you want to go tommorow? > # > # BSD :- Are you guys coming, or what? > # > ######################################################################### > > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message > -- EMACS == Eight Megabytes And Constantly Swapping Who is John Galt? galt@inconnu.isu.edu, that's who!
