I've started doing that as well.  And i remind people politely that RedHAt Debian, Slackware, and all
the rest are different from each other in subtle but important ways.  But i always say 'i run BSD
Unix on my computer' and if people ask details, i may say FreeBSD.  But BSD is easier anyway.  :-)
