As Mark Valentine recenetly said ->

"For two or three weeks I've been getting a hang (in X) or silent reboot
(not in X) *only* when bringing my PPP link up or down (about once every
4-5 connections, with kernel PPP)."

I concur with a -current about two weeks old.

Dropping into ddb shows "sleepy" processes

      flag stat wmesg wchan
sleep 4006 3 lockrd f0246068
ppd 6 3 lockrd f0246068
kermit 106 3 lockrd f0246068
