Drives in UNIX don't have letters for names. wd0 = Primary Master IDE Drive wd1 = Primary Slave IDE Drive wd0s1 = First slice on wd0 wd1s2 = Second slice on wd1 wd0s1a = First partition on wd0s1 (usually mounted to /) etc...
