Have a look at your /etc/rc.conf script, where the network stuff is
initialized.  Look for a line "ifconfig_de0=...."

Add the option "link1" to the end of this lnie, and reboot.

If that doesn't work, try different numbers (instead of "link1", try
"link0", "link2", etc.)
