	If this has been discussed before, please accept my apologies....

	Why don't we import the newsyslog  utility (it has been in NetBSD 
for a while now.) .  It has a central config point (you can say rotate 
XXX log every 5 days or rotate XXX log when it gets bigger than 5Meg).  
It was run from cron, if I remember correctly.
