            Bug ID: 207109
Summary: makefs includes a timestamp that prevents reproducible
                    output
           Product: Base System
           Version: 11.0-CURRENT
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: bin
          Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: emaste@freebsd.org

To support reproducible builds of FreeBSD we need to be able to produce
byte-identical output from identical input for all files produced by the bu=
ild.

makefs needs an option to control the timestamps emitted in its output, eit=
her
by allowing the user to set an explicit timestamp or allowing timestamps to=
 be
set to the epoch or similar.
