I hate XF86Setup.  Never had gotten it to work.  I always use the text
mode `xf86config'.

Did you set the mouse options in /etc/rc.conf?  If you did, your mouse
device is /dev/sysmouse, type Mouse Systems. If not, it's device
/dev/psm0, type PS/2.
