You are the maintainer of celestia, however, this PR was submitted Mon Dec 09 12:20:01 PST 2002 about 10 month old, almost a year before. This is *TOO* old PR, absolutely. I don't like such sad situation. I (there's no compulsion, though) think such attitude for a port should be regarded as `drop maintainership'. I am a quite new committer who makes many pointy hats, and lack of skills and knowledges, however, many people helped me a lot. Namely there are some ports which I cannot fix by myself, many people gave me suggestions and even enhancements (thanks for everyone). So if you have some problems (lack of maintaining time or skill), you should drop maintainership to ports@FreeBSD.org, but still you have a right to do some enhancement or modification whenever you want. I don't want to see to set some rules, like `PR outdated for 3 month any committers can fix' since freedom is one of the good thing for FreeBSD. Regards, maho
