The following reply was made to PR ports/144145; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Joerg Traeger <joerg.traeger@interoute.com> To: bug-followup@freebsd.org, nkoch@gmx.de Cc: Subject: Re: ports/144145: www/firefox: Firefox 3.6 does not allow any https-connection Date: Wed, 11 Aug 2010 12:18:22 +0200 I have had the same problem with Firefox 3.6.x on a system with FreeBSD 7.x. The reason was the use of the old library libc_r still being in /usr/lib. Cleaning the system using "make check-old" and recompiling Firefox solved this problem. Of course a good question is why does Firefox use this old library at all...? Kind regards Joerg Traeger
