Uhm, I don't understand you well here. Any code can have strange problems, nobody can be sure. Lets concentrate to this particular problem which I call 0 problem. 0 seed is illegal by algorithm desing and BSD developers try to made workaround, but their attempt was unsuccessful with result you describe. Now successfull attempt comes. It not add any new bugs, because value 0 simple mapped to another value (which could be any, but I choose to not touch lower ones), which make generator non-stick at 0 again. --=20 Andrey A.
