We run the reset_video code in real mode during resume and before enabling protected mode. Linux does the same thing for this method (lcall 0xc000, 3). However, the vbetool method does a much more complete reinitialization of video. It would be worth looking into all the things it does and adding it to the agp video framework or acpi as appropriate. We don't do any of this by default right now although Takawata-san ported vbetool to FreeBSD as a port. -- Nate
