You might be interested in doing

/etc/rc.d/routing restart

after /etc/rc.d/netif restart

When interface addresses are flushed with netif restart, the routing 
table is flushed too (or so it usually happens for me).
Obviously, you won't be able to reach anything outside your LAN if you 
have no default gateway set.
