I should have kept my mouth shut in the first place, but my intent wasn't to slam core, or the core members in general. My intent was to state my take on what happended with Amancio. Lord nows I've had my beefs with him (I've got email to prove it..), but I don't like the attitude that I perceive a few core members portray. Does this mean I think they haven't worked their butts off for FreeBSD? Of course not, but there are alot of people who work as hard as they do but don't get 'core' recognition, nor do most of the core people 'justify' their actions by using the 'core' club. Bad code/decisions aren't justified by being a core member, and neither is the inability to work with others. Being a core members means that they have a *responsibility* to make FreeBSD better, and not to lower themselves to pushing their weight around. Heck, if I were to venture a guess, I'd say that John left because he couldn't work with the other members of core, for whatever reason. That's a good reason to leave the core (it was mine), and I've never regretted it. I took a different tact than John though, and I'm still involved in FreeBSD and make changes (much to the chagrin of certain folks), but I don't try and let it bother me.
