I haven't been able to get an instance of a DEC DE500 PCI 10/100 ethernet card to work on my ASUS P54SP4 motherboard, which uses the SiS PCI chipset. (This is NOT a freebsd problem, the board's own DOS diagnostics won't run properly either.) After exhaustive tinkering I've decided to try it again with a triton chipset motherboard.
