Howdy,
So? BIND is in the ports collection and in the base system. Admittedly,
BIND was added so people could use v8 when v4 was only in the base system,
and has been maintained due to security issues with BIND. It should be the
same with sendmail. However, sendmail does build cleanly for FreeBSD from
the source without mods required. This does require that NO_SENDMAIL should
be set to true in /etc/make.conf to avoid clobbering the newer version of
sendmail if performing a make world.
