If you commit this, please also protect gam_poll_basic_init () behind
USE_GAMIN_POLLER.  I forgot that in my pass, and I've had it sitting on
my drive waiting for this ATTRIB thing to be resolved.

That would suck, but it would be the best option for the time being.
Getting a NOTE_ACCESS would be great moving forward.
