Hi,
I upgraded my workstation's X from xorg 6.9 to xorg 7.3, following UPDATING
20070519 (I think) entry. The whole process was basically easy, just a bit
time consuming (I built from source), but this was expected.

I had two issues, actually - first one was easily resolvable after some
googling. As this could be a common pitfall, I would like following patch to
UPDATING be considered:

--- UPDATING.orig Sat Sep 22 09:55:39 2007
+++ UPDATING    Sat Sep 22 09:59:21 2007

that you can see the default values in a log file
(e.g. /var/log/Xorg.0.log)
and fix your xorg.conf according to the defaults.

+ If you can't start X getting error
+
+ Fatal server error:
+ could not open default font 'fixed
+
+ try reinstall x11-fonts/font-misc-misc and x11-fonts/font-cursor-misc
ports.
+
   IF YOU RUN INTO PROBLEMS:

   # uname -a

I don't know how to properly file a PR for this, so please if someone could do
this for community...

After reinstalling mentioned ports, xorg just works (I created new config
using builtin defaults and generated config file, some minor tweaks was
done).

One issue remains - Num lock and Caps lock LED don't work. I can't find
anything on this issue after some googling, so I would like ask if anyone
knows what to test, I will try. Scroll lock is setable via xset, but Num lock
and Caps lock LEDs are just off, no change with key perss, not setable via
xset. Any idea here?

Regards,
Milan
