Put a resonably fast disk on each of the two ATA channels, then
copy lots of data, preferably big files to really get it
going, between the two disks. If that still fails with (silent)
data corruption let me know. 
Please remember that you might not have problems, if your BIOS
is done professionally this wont be an issue at all...
