There's also c2ps, primarily intended for C sources, but I'm
almost sure that it has a command line switch that deactivates
the "pretty printing" (text style, line numbers, headers and
so on) so it can be used for ordinary text.

Keep in mind the tools mentioned so far are from a pre-UTF-8
era, so I'm not sure if they will work as intended...
