As a public service, Higher Ground Diagnostics, Inc. is offering a free download of the Hard Drive Mechanics’ S.M.A.R.T. sensor. This program will check your PC for the presence of *Predictive* technology installed into most hard drives built after 1996. This technology is capable of determining when hard drive failures will occur.

If your hard drive has the S.M.A.R.T. technology, then your PC already has the ability to detect hard drive crashes weeks or months before they actually occur. To take advantage of S.M.A.R.T. technology, you simply need to turn it on.

As a free public service, the S.M.A.R.T. tester can be downloaded from http://www.uglyware.com/deluxe/
The S.M.A.R.T. tester has been checked for viruses and may be downloaded safely from that website.
