Thomas, Heiko,

There have been lots of changes to the sound drivers since
4.0R.
(especially for Yamaha which had problems playing mono sounds)

The drivers in FreeBSD 4.1-stable are much better.

If you do not want to upgrade to a 4.x-stable snapshot,
then you can wait 15 days for FreeBSD 4.2, and upgrade to that.

Roger
