+----[ Joe Marcus Clarke <marcus@FreeBSD.org> (11.Jan.2005 15:19): | [snip] | | | I don't think this is possible. In order for me to put custom icons on | | | my various terminal launchers, I had to add those icons to each terminal | | | profile. It was work, but worth the effort. Personally, I think this | | | is a bug with GNOME, but haven't yet got annoyed enough to officially | | | complain. Seems like I misunderstood what you meant with 'terminal launchers' ... I guess now I see (see below) [snip] | | am I on the right track? What other files should I need to | | edit/create in order for this 'magic' to work? Or perhaps it | | could be done with gconf? | | Yes, I am referring to gnome-terminal profiles. All profile editing and | creation can be done from within gnome-terminal itself. | | Joe | +----] So, whenever you want to add a launcher for an app that runs on a terminal, you add a launcher for a gnome-terminal, which is using a particular profile. And you just change the icon for each profile. Is this what you're doing? If so, seems like my question is a different one, since I do not use gnome-terminal but xterm. Again I just supposed that adding a custom icon to a launcher will also make this icon appear in tab/window lists. Perhaps it is a Gnome Bug, or perhaps there is a way to specify these icons ... how do gaim/firefox do it? or perhaps gnome is providing icons for these apps itself? Fernan, still ruminating my question :|
