When I test the speed from ftp-master.eu.FreeBSD.org to ftp.cz.FreeBSD.org today, I get speed about 3,5 MB/s (28 Mb/s), where the distance is ~ 200 km. Please, could you test it once again? Current tcptraceroute says Selected device em0, address 147.229.9.40, port 63367 for outgoing packets Tracing the path to 217.75.113.5 on TCP port 80, 30 hops max 1 bd-boz.fit.vutbr.cz (147.229.9.4) 3.149 ms 7.629 ms 9.966 ms ... 14 freebsd.g.port80.se (217.75.113.5) 49.301 ms 49.360 ms 49.256 ms which seems to be good (tcptraceroute to ftp.cz.FreeBSD.org is currently www.freebsd.cz (195.113.15.29) 7.401 ms 8.596 ms 10.507 ms). - I had speed problems at Friday too :o( Just about 0,7 MB/s instead of typical >= 3 MB/s. - If it is the first cvsup run, my experiences are that it is very slow and very memory consuming - only the next runs with cached attributes are effective. - Please try simple ftp download from ftp-master.eu.FreeBSD.cz and you will see more raw connection speed (in case that you do not monitor traffic on interface but looking at cvsup speed). My current testing ftp2.se.FreeBSD.org -> ftp-master.eu.FreeBSD.org says about 1 MB/s.
