Is this still a problem with modern versions of FreeBSD?
Oddly enough, the problem went away with 5.3, but then returned
with 5.4. The PC emits a particular beep pattern when it fails to
reboot. I've contacted the machine's prior owner to see if he still has
the manual -- maybe I can figure out what it's trying to telegraph.
