Since PNP tends to mess up audio on my IBM 600E, I am manually
configuring the audio port and have disabled PNPBIOS in the
kernel. This does the trick for the sound system, but it breaks my
parallel port. The probe now reports:
ppc0: cannot reserve I/O range

Is there a way to get to my parallel port without PNP?

I am attaching my dmesg and kernel configurations.
