This is because NLS option requires Qt libraries. So the problem is that Qt starts compiling a *full* distribution (including unnecessary Qt Designer and WebKit components). This takes hours to build even on fast machines. As a workaround, it's possible to disable NLS and Qt, which will build VirtualBox without pulling Qt. >How-To-Repeat: 1.
