All: 6 years out, it looks like cd(4)/ata(4) still has problems reading virtual CD media in the Dell PowerEdge DRAC4 LOM. We see ~ 30x of these in dmesg: acd1: WARNING - READ_TOC read data overrun 20>12 Followed by this in sysinstall: "The disc in your drive looks more like an audio disc than a FreeBSD Release" (1). acd1: DVR <VIRTUALCDROM DRIVE/> at ata2-slave PIO3 acd0: CDROM <TEAC CD-ROM CD-224E/K.9A> Of course, the BIOS is able to read from the disc and load mfsroot. Maybe a sysctl tweak is needed at loader(8). It just seem like, given the market penetration of PowerEdge 8th gen, this would be behind us. Latest DRAC firmware. ~BAS 1.
